World's Largest Hockey
Stick Eveleth has a New Hockey Stick! The new Hockey Stick is located on our main street in downtown Eveleth, MN. It weighs 10,000 pounds or 5 tons. It replaces the old stick from seven years ago and cost $60,000 to construct and replace the old one. The new stick is 110 foot and was built by Sentinel Structures Inc. of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. The Big Stick complements a Hockey Plaza complete with a large Hockey Puck and Hockey Mural directly behind it. The new Stick was put up on June 18th, 2002. It is considered to be the World's Largest Hockey Stick. I don't have any photos of the new stick yet, but here are a few photos of the "old stick".
