Mount Rushmore, located in the southwestern corner of South Dakota, is more than just a sculpture, it is also a symbol of American history and values. The monument, which is carved into the Black Hills region, depicts four prominent US presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, each standing 60 feet tall. These monumental sculptures were created between October 4 and October 31, 1927, to commemorate major events in American history.
